Connie Johnson, a local freelance editor, will join us as speaker. Connie has an MFA and currently edits novels and non-fiction books for writers. She does free appraisals and offers hourly rates as well as project rates.
At this point, she has not specialized in a particular genre of fiction, but that may change. Connie also writes fiction, so she understands where writers are coming from.
She will join us to explain "Layers of Editing," and give us pointers on making our editing better. She will take questions, and give encouragement.
Note: The drawing for the 100 club prize.

| October 9th |
Samhain Executive Editor Angela James will be talking about publishing with small presses and some of the myths of e-publishing.
|
| November 6th |
Pam Bowerman, writing as Jami Davenport, will be delivering vital news to all of us tonight. As a recent multi-published, e-published author, Pam took the initiative to study up on many of the e-publishers. She has generously offered to share her findings with us!
Her talk will touch on important topics for authors: Which epubs are more author-friendly? Which ones provide the really good covers? Which ones follow through on what they tell the author they'll do? And, What about marketing?
